What are my property tax payment options?
- You can pay online through most major banks and Central One Credit Unions. Search Ear Falls in the Payee list and look for Ear Falls Property Tax option. You will use your Assessment Roll Number as the account number. Your Assessment Roll Number can be found on your tax bill or by calling the Municipal Office.
- Note: Some banks require you to enter the "-" in the Roll Number, and some do not.
- You can pay by credit card through our website (see the top right side of this page for the "View/Pay a Bill" button).
- You can pay in-person at the Municipal Office by cash, cheque or debit. We do not accept credit cards.
- You can mail a cheque or multiple, post-dated cheques to the Municipal Office.
Late Payments and Arrears Notices
It's important to note that if taxes are not paid by the scheduled due dates, they will become subject to penalties which are calculated at 15% per year (1.25% per month).
Section 391 (1) of the Municipal Act, 2001 allows the Township to charge a fee to send out reminder notices on a monthly basis to all properties in tax arrears until such time as the taxes are paid in full. The Township's current fee is $5 for an Arrears Notice.
