Bald Eagle
A Local Icon:  The Bald Eagle

For nearly 30 years Dr. Jim Grier of the Zoology Department of North Dakota State University in Fargo, conducted research in the area on the Bald Eagle. In 1984, Ear Falls was named “The Bald Eagle Capital of North America”. Though other communities make the claim, it is here that the majestic bird, world famous as the U.S. national symbol, has been researched and “adopted”.

Visit the Ear Falls District Museum to see our display, including a juvenile Bald Eagle mount.
