Ear Falls 2000 Inc

Ear Falls participates in three different categories of projects: our annual and ongoing projects, our current one-time projects, and Desktop Publishing.

 

Our Annual Projects:

· Ear Falls 2000 is responsible for creating and running the Ear Falls Shop Local Campaign in November/December of each year. The purpose of this event is to encourage residents to shop in area stores instead of heading to the city to spend their money at Christmas.

· Ear Falls 2000 is responsible for managing Pakwash Provincial Park through our Sub-committee “Friends of Pakwash” and in partnership with both the township and the MNR.

· Ear Falls 2000 is responsible for recruiting and organizing volunteers to plant and maintain flowerbeds throughout Ear Falls through our Green Thumb Club.

· Ear Falls 2000 distributes a monthly newsletter regarding our most recent activities and endeavors.

· Ear Falls 2000 is responsible for operating the Tourist Information Bureau from September until May.

· Ear Falls 2000 hosts a Charity Golf Tournament each year in September with proceeds going to community causes.

 

Our Current Initiatives:

Currently Ear Falls 2000 is in the process of obtaining funding for the following projects:

· Community Heritage Mural

· Community Retention Project

· Griffith Mine Trail Enhancement

Currently we are initiating a project called “Great Freighting Era”. This project involves the creation of a website that captures first hand memories of seniors who lived through the Great Freighting Era at Goldpines in the 40’s.
