Ear Falls 2000 Inc

Ear Falls 2000 Healthy Community Program is a not-for-profit organization that was formed by a group of concerned citizens after a Healthy Communities Coalition meeting took place in Ear Falls. The group noticed that the residents of Ear falls were viewing their community from a glass half empty perspective due to the closure of the area’s main employer, Griffith Mine.

 

The initiative started with a flower garden and a newsletter and has expanded to include several sub-committees and projects that have had significant impact on the community of Ear Falls. We were instrumental in preventing the closure of the Ear Falls medical centre and keeping the gates open at Pakwash Provincial Park when slated for closure.

 

 

 

Ear Falls 2000 is community-based and thus responsive to local need. In 2006/2007 we will be focusing on our belief that Community Pride equals Community Development.
